Allyson Scherb Auerbach, Health Resources in Action
Allyson Scherb Auerbach is a Community Health Associate at Health Resources in Action (HRiA). In this role, she provides technical assistance to the Boston Alliance for Community Health and ten affiliate neighborhood coalitions regarding community health assessment and planning, using the MAPP (Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships) model. She also works in the HRiA Research and Evaluation Department developing comprehensive research plans, conducting community assessments, and evaluating the impact of health programs. Finally, Allyson coordinates and conducts Health Impact Assessment (HIA) work for HRiA, which includes designing and implementing an HIA training series for the New England region, engaging organizational and community partners in the HIA process, and providing training and technical assistance to communities undertaking HIAs across Massachusetts. Allyson completed a BS in public health at Haverford College and an MPH at Johns Hopkins. She has worked for nine years on community-based public health in Baltimore, Philadelphia and Massachusetts and Peru.
