Always the first Sunday in May on Boston Common, Project Bread’s Walk for Hunger raises awareness of hunger in Massachusetts and raises funds to support programs across the state that help residents access food. Last year, thanks to supporters of the 50th Walk for Hunger, Project Bread invested $1 million in 315 community programs across 97 Massachusetts cities and towns.
Hunger impacts the lives of over 723,000 Massachusetts residents. It threatens the health and futures of 1 In 8 children in our state. But hunger is solvable, and together, we walk to send a powerful message that in Massachusetts, we don’t wait for change—we walk for it.
***NEW THIS YEAR: A 3-mile walk route!***
In 2019, we’re adding a new 3-mile walk route to make participating in the Walk for Hunger more accessible for all. Don’t worry, the historic 20-mile route isn’t going anywhere! All routes begin and end on Boston Common, which will be buzzing with activities for the whole family.
