YW Boston’s Elevating Lives Series is a curated event series that focuses on areas relating to our mission of eliminating racism and empowering women. Our series convenes thought leaders from across sectors for transformative discussions that help elevate lives.

YW Boston’s 2019 Elevating Lives Series will focus on institutional racism, barriers to racial equity in Boston, and successful interventions towards building more equitable spaces.

Join us for a fireside chat with YW Boston President & CEO Beth Chandler and Dr. Robert W. Livingston, Lecturer of Public Policy at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, as we explore ways to further racial equity in Boston.

Beth Chandler joined YW Boston in November 2012, with more than 20 years of experience in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. Her breadth of work experience encompasses program development, delivery and evaluation, business development, and operations. Most recently Beth served as vice president at the Achievement Network, a growing national non-profit dedicated to helping urban public and charter schools close the achievement gap. Currently Beth serves on the Governance Board of the Boston Teachers Union School and is certified by the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Beth received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Dr. Robert W. Livingston is a Lecturer of Public Policy at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. Dr. Livingston has delivered diversity training and has served as a management consultant for numerous Fortune 500 companies, as well as public-sector agencies/municipalities and non-profit organizations. He also teaches in executive education programs and has received multiple awards and recognition for excellence in teaching. In his spare time, he enjoys jazz, wine and whiskey tasting, philosophy, art and interior design, real estate investing, outdoor activities, and wildlife documentaries. He has resided in five countries and is fluent in four languages.
