Introduction to Virtual Project Management

The Coronavirus pandemic has changed how community development organizations execute projects. This interactive training will help you effectively navigate the new realities of virtual project management.

This two day, three-hour online training session will focus on project management best practices and how to effectively manage teams in a virtual environment. Participants will practice conecpts with real-life exercises focused on community development projects. This workshop series will provide practical tips for collaborating with virtual teams as well as effective time management skills while working from home.

Meeting Objectives:

Familiarize participants with Project Management Vocabulary
Understand how to tactically apply conecpts and tools to community development projects
Increase productivity of future projects through hands-on exercises
Share experiences among participants to gain new insights into project management

Maria Latimore is founder and principal consultant of Maria Latimore Group, which specializes in project management training for nonprofits. Before starting Maria Latimore Group, she was a Vice President in State Street Corporation’s business transformation division where she managed the design, deployment and training of operating model projects that fundamentally transformed global investor services business units.? Maria is a PMP-certified project manager and has a B.A. degress in Business Management from Simmons College in Boston. She is on the board of directors of The Dignity Institute; the Community Engagement Committee of Nuestra Comunidad; and the Technology Committee at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at University of Massachusetts Boston.
