The 84 Youth Power Conference is a chance for high school students to learn about how the tobacco industry is targeting them and what they can do about it in their communities. In the full-day leadership training, they will learn about social justice movements and how youth power has been a driving force in creating change; how to use social media to spread a message; and how to network with other people from their region to make a difference. Join over 150 youth from across the state for this free event on October 18, 2014 at the UMass Medical School in Worcester. Also, HRiA is currently taking applications for mini-grants of $1k-$2k for your programs to do some tobacco prevention work with youth. Deadline: September 30
Please note, to take advantage of these opportunities, you must first sign up as a Chapter. Signing up to be an 84 Chapter is free and easy. All it takes is 5 youth and 1 adult to form a group, and the online registration can be completed in a few minutes.
