Safe Routes to School – Online Survey Tool (Webinar)

October 3, 2013 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Who Should Attend:
Mass in Motion Coordinators

Description:
With the start of the 2013/2014 school year, the Massachusetts Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program is launching its new online survey tool at MASafeRoutesSurvey.org. The tool is a statewide resource that includes “walksheds” for all Massachusetts elementary and middle schools, a parent survey and an administrative portal that provides stakeholders with access to survey data. SRTS is making the tool available to MDPH’s Mass in Motion coordinators statewide to support the shared goals of increasing healthy transportation throughout the Commonwealth. This webinar training will include a live demonstration of the website with features that have been updated since June 2013¬†including the parent survey and administrative capabilities, followed by questions and answers. Coordinators will also learn what resources and support the MA Safe Routes to School team of coordinators can provide to assist with survey efforts in Mass in Motion communities.

*Mass in Motion coordinators who have Safe Routes to School on their work plans should use this tool to survey participating schools at least once per year to track changes in student commutes to school as a result of SRTS activities. In addition, coordinators considering implementing SRTS in their communities or in additional schools should use this tool to assist them in making decisions about where to implement SRTS activities.

Learning Objectives:
Participants completing this training will be able to:
1) Create administrator profiles on the website
2) Create and administer surveys for participating schools and communities
3) Access survey data and generate reports
