The Co-Directors of the Center to Support Immigrant Organizing will share their framework of participatory facilitation and how this work can create settings and conversations that cultivate leadership among people impacted by social injustice.
Participants will learn how to:
– Make participation more equitable in groups
– Help groups come to decisions via participatory practice
– Use active listening as a critical leadership tool
– Surmount common challenges to equitable participation
Target Audience: This workshop is targeted to people who are trying to build equitable organizations or community initiatives that promote social change. Organizers and leaders of color who are trying to develop participatory and community leadership in their groups and communities are particularly encouraged to attend.
