Description: As a follow-up to the May session on caregiver mental health and parenting, Horizons for Homeless Children will offer a practical session on engaging parents in the value of play. They will share their experiencing providing virtual safe spaces for caregivers to talk and learn about their children and parenting. Providers will leave with ideas for how they can help the families they work with connect with parenting support.
Housing & Education: Learning Community from United Way
At A Glance: United Way provides a learning community for staff in housing organizations to gather, explore, and hone their capacity to support positive outcomes for children and families experiencing housing instability or homelessness.
Who: Professionals in policy, planning, direct-service, or program leadership; break-out rooms allow for a range of reflection, discussion, and application.
Why: As we work toward equity in education and housing justice, we recognize children and families experiencing housing instability or homelessness are among the most vulnerable members of our community. Change will require new thinking and new practice across systems. United Way makes this space to support learning, networking, and collaboration.
