A coalition of public health leaders is organizing the first-ever Western MA Health Equity Summit for October 2, 2014 to bring western MA practitioners and community leaders together to take steps to achieve more health equity in western MA by working, learning and taking action together. It will be geared toward a wide range of practitioners, professionals, young adults and community leaders.
Organizers are inspired by a vision of health equity in which residents of the four western counties are able to achieve full health because unjust and avoidable obstacles have been replaced with equitable health policies and practices. Their vision is to chart a path towards more equity in all aspects of health for our residents. The summit will allow attendees to take back information and work in their own communities, as well as join in a network to address regional issues to make positive and lasting change.
