Building the Bridge: How Public Health and Community Development Can Work Together to Advance Shared Health and Racial Equity Goals

March 29 @ 12:30 pm

Friday, March 29th, 2024

1 hour

We are in a moment where the need for more collaboration between the public health and community development sectors is necessary. Public health and community development share many challenges, from the national shortages of affordable housing to responses to climate impacts on community infrastructure and health, just to name a few.

This webinar will explore how racial equity is understood in these two sectors and where public health and community development collaborations have been successful in improving population health and health equity and what it will take to move us forward.

Join us for a dynamic conversation with these impressive women of color, working across the public health and community development sectors, as we explore opportunities for public health to implement racial equity goals through engagement with those shaping the built environment. The speakers will also discuss the recent launch of a primer that supports public health and community development collaboration for health equity, created from a partnership between Build Healthy Places Network and the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors.
