Incorporating Caregiver Mental Health and Parenting into the Identification of Risk & Resilience

Parents’ health and well-being significantly impacts their children’s growth and development. Results of a recent national study will be presented to illustrate the relationship between caregiver mental health and parenting styles with early childhood development, illustrating how parenting skills development is a promising intervention for programs serving at-risk families. The session will be an opportunity for participants to learn ways to develop a more integrated housing and service delivery model that is parent-centered, two generational, and cost effective to improve outcomes.
