Description:

This National Public Health Week webinar hosted by APHA serves as a pivotal platform dedicated to a comprehensive exploration of the unique needs and obstacles related to equity for students and members of the workforce living with intellectual disabilities. The central tenet of this conversation involves an intentional centering of the experiences of individual students and workers who navigate the challenges associated with intellectual disabilities within the broader context of equity and transformative shifts within public health systems.

A distinctive feature of this webinar lies in its commitment to amplify the voices of those directly impacted by intellectual disabilities. Through a series of firsthand accounts and narratives, attendees will gain invaluable insights into the lived experiences of individuals with ID, thereby fostering a deeper understanding of the complex challenges they encounter in educational and professional spaces. By elevating these voices, the webinar aims to facilitate a more empathetic and informed approach to crafting equitable solutions.
