Who Should Attend:
MiM coordinators only
This MiM Coordinators Meeting (formerly know as the MiM Coordinators Quarterly Meeting) will include a training component and facilitated networking opportunities.
This meeting includes a training on joint use agreements (JUA). The training will present information on how and why communities in Massachusetts should share space in schools and other municipal facilities with the wider community to increase opportunities for recreation and exercise. Joint use agreements, or simple contracts that describe the responsibilities and expectations that come with sharing facilities, will be introduced as the primary tool for enabling publicly owned buildings and grounds to safely open their doors and gates after-hours.
Participants completing this training will be able to:
1) Identify buildings and grounds in their cities and towns that can be shared with the wider community
2) Assemble a joint use team and create a timeline for implementation of a joint use initiative
3) Answer questions about the potential risks and requirements of sharing space
4) Draft a comprehensive joint use agreement
